OverView of Mahimangad
Mahihangad has old history for its castle. Village is surrounded by one castle and one big hill. Inbetween village lies. Before 20 - 30 years population was good. People were manufacturing sheep wool fabrics by hand and sell them in Konkan.
Now a days because of water and road problem, many people have moved from there.Proper care is not being aken by govt. Infact it is very good place. If Govt. takes interest, they can make this village as history place to visit outsiders. Possibility to store the water in between two hills is there if Govt. wishes. I feel very sorry when I visit there. No proper road, no water to drink or even for other purpose.
Only one thing is there since long long time that is festival form one comunity ( Ramoshi). They celebrate once in 3 years. Other people ofcourse also contribute.Because of more expenses, people can not afford to have this festival once in a year.This festival continues for 10 days. It is worth seen.
This village is slightly inside of main road i.e. Satara Pandharpur road. That is why nobody pays attention on this village's prosperity.
