Shivajinagar village has a long history & a great heritage. Earlier this village was known by the name YELAKE. The 'Yelake' was called as the village God (Gram Daivat) of this village is YELKOBA alias Bhairavnath. This village was a part of BHOR sansthan in the British regime. Post independence, in 1964, Late. Shree Ramchandra Ganpatrao Bhosale (Jahagirdar) established the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the village and since then it was renamed as 'Shivajinagar'. This statue was inagurated by the then Home Minister of Maharashtra state Late. Shri.Balasaheb Desai. Shivajinagar is a cultured village where all the people from different castes and religion stay together peacefully. Maratha is a dominant population and almost 95% of them are having surname as 'Bhosale'. There is one primary school and Higher Secondary school in Shivajinagar. The students from these schools have done very well in their careers. Many of them are Doctoers, Engineers, Chartered Accountants, Govt. Officers, Police Officers, Management Professionals and so on. Main occupation of people in this village is 'Agriculture', Poultry & 'Service'. Shivajinagar has been known for its tolerance. Since Shivajinagar is in the drought affected region, most of the people from this village have migrated to industrial cities like Mumbai , Pune, etc. Agri is mainly dependent on the rainfall, hence new generation is not much interested in agriculture and wants to pursue careers in different fields. Now, with the upcoming irrigation canal project, village has a good future in agriculture but Govt has declared Industrial Zone and have declared to acquire the agri land of farmers, therefore there is a sense of disappointment in the village at the moment.With the help of taluka shetkri kruti samiti farmers are united and fighting with govt for there land.And in month of July 17 MIDC agreed on Release farmers land.Edit below overview about Shivajinagar
