OverView of Ballipur

Our village Ballipur is a very big village in District Samastipur  having four big quadrants/tollas,a wonderful place.  It is well connected by road to the District H.Q, Samastipur (23 km, the nearest railway Station). The state capital Patna, which also happens to be the nearest air port is about 125 K.M. Now the Airport nearest to our village Ballipur is Darbhanga Airport.There is direct Bus service from Ballipur to Patna, too many buses are available from Ballipur for Patna, and return to Ballipur. Buses for Samastipur is available through out the day at 15-20 minute interval.

It has been the land of  some eminent personalities. Amongst them are Late Damodar Narayan Choudhary (a land lord during British rule), Surendra Jha Suman (renowned poet and one time member of Lok Sabha from Darbhanga  Parliamentary  Constituency) and one time Member of Legislative Assembly from Darbhanga . His  friend  Late Pandit Ram Nireshan Mishra  and some high ranking govt. officials Mithilesh Kumar Choudhary (Bihar Forest Service), Shailesh Kumar Choudhary (Bihar Administrative Service), Both of them are blood brothers.Similarly his close friend Mr Nagendra Kumar Mishra and Arjun Kumar Mishra (both are son of a veteran congress worker namely Shambhu Nath Mishra )  in Medical Dept and on a good post in Indian Navy for more than 26 years .They are infarct the examples of inspiration for other villagers. Mr Jitendra Nn Chaudhary ,an Engineer also hail from this great  land only.There are more than other twenty renowned personalities in this village.

Poonam Devi (W/o Rakesh Kumar Mahto alias Buteli,an ex Mukhiya,,a good human being ,a devoted village worker,an honest man,a peace loving personality, a Saw Mill and a Brick Kiln owner) is presently the Mukhiya/Pradhan of our village.She is extremeely doing well in our village for the welfare and upliftment of the villagers.She is first choice of maximum villagers to continue in the chair except some hurdles by uneducated /less educated. 

Main occupation of the people of Ballipur is agriculture, there are two brick kilns also. Construction is the most flourishing business here. The economy of Ballipur is basically a money order driven one. Scores of residents of Ballipur have migrated to other parts of the country in search of greener pastures.

There was electricity in our village 30 years ago but due to lack of some collective efforts and funds ,it could not survive. People are dependent on hand pumps for drinking water. Interestingly prior to 1987 electricity and water supply both were available in our village. Due to massive floods in the year 1987 both services got disrupted and they never got restored . There is a APHC (Additional Primary Health Centre) but it is non functional. People are dependent on Non MBBS /quacks/Jhola chhap doctors for their treatment. One such practicener  namely Mr Rajesh Choudhary has made it big he has earned huge fortunes. There is a bank in our village (Samastipur Kshetri6ya Gramin Bank), which doesn't have C.B.S (Core Banking Service) facility. There is a secondary School namely Gandhi Smarak Damodar Uccha Vidyalaya Ballipur (fortunately this writer /editor also is a student of the same school). Presently the standards of teaching there has unfortunately gone down. There are adequate number of primary and middle schools, private schools but again their standards of teaching is  not upto the mark .Nearest college is at the block headquarters i.e. Shivaji Nagar,5 Km away but again it  needs improvements. Students prefer to study in Samastipur, Darbhanga or Patna etc depending on their family income and affordability for higher studies. There is a Community Centre also in our village but it also is non functional. There are a couple of private schools also but not much can be said about their satndards. There was a Girls High School proposed, foundation of the same's buliding was constructed a long time back but nothing has happened since then due to the apathy of the residents of the village.

You might be aware that there has been serious neglect on part of the government towards providing basic amenities in our village, but still people of our village are happy and content with whatever they possess. Presently people are adventurous in nature. They have started for excellence for the sake name and fame in society .

There is an utkrist vidyalaya named Ballipur which is upgraded up to 12th class.there are many teachers of Ballipur teach in this school. Many private schools also run in my village. There is a coaching in my village named Choudhary coaching classes up to 10th standard.
