Historical Background of Village:

MANDOORA is a village situated in the east of Tral Town. It is situated at an altitude of 1830 meters and at a latitude of 33.5⁰ degree. The village is away from the Tehsil Headquarter about 4.2 kms. Mandoora name has been derived from Mandoodari: meaning a big spring of cold and clean water. The village has a central position, as it is situated between the various neighbouring villages. The village is known for its walnut and apple orchards throughout the J&K state. The village is spread over an area of about 3 sq.kms. approximately. The village is inhabited by a population of 2025 persons. It is inhabited by a many communities excluding Pandits. The Muslim community comprises of sub communities like Chopans, Shiekhs(Moochi), Ganaees, Bhats, Rathers, Reshis, Mirs,Parays etc.
