OverView of Sarola
Sarola Village has a rich history. The Dhaktode Patil of the village was Jamindar in the Nizam time who use to collect the land revenue of the 15 villages around Sarola and gives to Nizam. Nizam appointed Dhaktdoe Patil as Patil of that area for more than 100 years. In the Sarola only one caste that is Mahar use to live in the 18th and 9th Century later few Marathas joined the village. Mahars of the Village were holding entire land of the village. However, later the one of the Maratha business man from Pimpla village came in the Sarola and taken almost more than 95% of the land of Mahar Patil's of the village.Historical narrations by the aged informs that, the father of Sadashiv Patil (Dhaktode) would collect the land revenue of nearby village passed away due to health issues. His wife took the in charge of Jamindari with Babaji Patil (Dhaktode) brother of Sadashiv Patil. Around 1920s when the peasant movement in the Hydarabad princely state was on pick the Dhaktode Patil family also found themselves in the crisis. The drought and peasant revolt make situation bad for the family. In the economic crisis, a Maratha Kumum business man from Pimpala suggested Sadashiv Patil's wife to take the eating leaf crop. This business' man would call Sadhashiv's wife a Sister. He said he will give the initial capital to her, innocently she took the loan from the businessman and started cultivation of eating leaf crop.
The businessman use to do the Kumkum business at Tuljabhavi Temple in Tuljapur the nearby town and present block place. He would use the acid for the Kumkum production and oil was used at the temple. He used that acid and used oil from temple to through on the eating leaf crop of Dhaktode Patils farm in one dark night. Next day entire crop got burned and Sadashiv's wife lost everything that was invested in terms of money, labore and mind.
Smartly the businessman kept quite fore few days, and after a month he reached to the home of Sadashiv asking the loan money. The wife of Sadashiv had nothing to give him. In return he asked to give the land, with the help of the revenue officer form the Naldurg (revenue headquarter then) he prepare the land documents on aluminum sheet and got it stamped. He took most of the fertile land of nearby village known Mala. He also took the house (Wada a traditional house) and asked them to stay away from the main village.
With taking the house and land they shifted form Pimpla to Mahar Sarola Village and started ruling the village. around 1920 The Maratha's from Sarola also could not do much and come under their domination. Some of the land (Kanher land) of Sorola resident from Maratha caste were also stollen by this man. The remaining land of Dhaktoe Patil was also taken by businessman and his son who known for his aggression and criminal behavior's.
The aged people informs that the remaining lad of Dhaktode Patil was taken by migrated businessman's son just with a Stale Jawar bread and butter milk that to a very poor quality. But since there was nothing to each and situation was worst for Dhaktode Patil as well others in village including traditional resident of Maratha caste they surrender before this businessman since he strategically blackmail all.
However, good thing is, even today the cultural rights such as Mahadev Kati, Bail Pola, Gawarai rights are with Dhaktode Patil at village. There are incidences of the small conflicts but Dhaktode Patil could suicided to protect and hold those cultural rights in the village.
The changing caste based dominant political situation has became emerging challenge for the Dhaktode Patil to protect their traditional cultural rights but the educated and conscious youths from the Dhaktode have been fighting for this fearlessly.
The Sarola village that has unique and rich history was awarded by the Mrs. Pratibahtiai Patil president of India with Nirmal Village in 2008 under the Sapranch rule of Dhaktode one of the member of Patil family.
Village has been maintained green and clean since then. Though village comes in the Marathawada region of the Maharasthra, it has hardly face the water crisis. Trinationally Dhaktode Patil under Nizam had dig and constructed two deep wells those use to fulfil the water need of the village. Latter the new wells at two different places have been meeting the need of the village water.
The educated village youths of Sarola want a good school and healthy social and educational environment of the village so student get education and development themselves. Some of the New Buddhist, Maratha and OBC, VJNT community (stone cutter caste) are playing important role to achieve this dream.
