OverView of Shila Kipper
Shilla Kipper is a small village, in Mandi, Tehsil Sadar Himachal Pradesh. People are atheists. Local Dev is Sat Dev Balakameshver. People have a great belief on their god, who always help and protect them. There are temples of Dev Balakameshver Ghughta And also of Radhe Krishna(Thakurdwara) in local language called thakkrdwala. People are vaishnav and Shaiv mean Shiv devotee also in this village. There is a great respect for culture here. Every year Mala Festival is celebrated here. It is for about 4 days. Gram Devta travels along with peoples of the village in all the villages which are under his haar or we can say under him. Dev go to each and every house along with villagers and bless his worshippers. The time is of great fun and relaxation. Because all the work of harvesting crop(corn) has been finished and people thank god for giving good crop on the 4th day, there is only one village left to accept hospitality and that is Shilla kipper. Dev go to each and every house. During evening time when its all over. Mala function starts. Dev goes to its Root temple At Ghughta and after some ceremony there comes back to village, dancing on the way. people also enjoy dancing with dev. When they reach at the temple which is located in the village, there is again dance in the yard of temple. People of village and also there relatives, friends starts to gather in the temple. Local Banthdaa program is acted in the temple. Which is actually a comedy drama. it ends in mid night. people enjoy and forget about their worries, frustration and tiredness. it is like a boost for whole year to the people on this day every house of the village make tasty recopies and they dont let any one hungry on the same day. They provide food to all who come to their home. may be he is known to them or not. It is a nice village with nice hearted people. But is not well developed, however it is only 4-5 kilometres from the city. it is an underdeveloped village. on the name of development here is only unmanaged road and a middle school Govt.
