this village is formed in 18th century build by the thummala konda reddy his came from Pedda kambaluru village near by this village around 3 km. Their families lived in huts (kottamu) near the gilleda vagu. so the name was formed by the people as a THUMMALA KOTTALA and freedom fighter VUYYALAVADA NARASIMHA REDDY was stayed in this village some days at the time of 18th century.
He started to fight for freedom in 1847 against British, 10 years before the Indian rebellion of 1857. He was born in Vuyyalawada, Koilakuntla taluk of KURNOOL district in andhra pradesh. The British hanged him at jurreru river bridge in banaganapalle of Kurnool district.
Now it is calling as a T.KOTTALA.
