OverView of Atoot Khas
Starting from the ancient times, its not easy to say that when this village was formed, but some of the evidence i.e scluptures and monuments speaks that it was formed 18th century and some residing people says that its as old as Ahiliyas town Maheshwar and Mandleshwar, as some archaeologist found a village known as Mirzapur which was in 18th century but is now not in existence, and that area is now occupied in the Atoot region. The very old dynasty in this village is Tomar(Rajputs)dynasty who's ancestors dominated and provided juctice to people in old times, even the old court room aka "Kacheri" still exists.Its name formerly known as Atud Khas, Khas was mantioned to differ it from nearby village Atud(Bhikari). In recent times its better known as Atoot Khas which means "Unbreakable". Villagers as in occupation most of them are indulged in agriculture who sow cotton, soyabean, wheat, sugarcane, papaya, pomegranate. This is their major income sources. And some other villagers run their small scale business in trading, retail shops, constructions etc.. The climate here is avarage, high in summers goes till 45degree celcius and in winters it reaches to 10degrees celcius minimum. Here Dushera and Diwali are celebrated in an unique ancient ways, languages spoken in common is Nimadi and Hindi. There are two main rivers Kaveri(Narmada river water) and Amag, and also have small cannals for land irrigation, and for drinking and domestic use there are tubewells, wells and hand pumps. The river are connected with the Indira sagar dam, which is the reason water remains all season. For local education there is a government school till 8th std. And for higher education near by places people prefer is Khandwa,Sanawad and Indore.
Well if we look up to the tourist places here is nothing so well known, but for instance there is an Natural occured 5-6 Shiv lings of lord Shiva, which occured on natural berg in river Kaveri many years back. And nearby places to vist is Omkareshawar, Punasa Dam, Hanumatiya back water, Singaji power plant. Which are easily approched from Atoot khas.
