OverView of Raipur
Raipur was a very famous village during princely state time because it was a Pada(a place to stay) and on the foot road leading to Chamba from Sihunta. Most of residents of this village belong to Brahamin(priestly) families. It is located at the foot of a ridge which rises from the peak of Bintru Nag and descending down up to Raipur and further extending down it up to Chakki Khadd the lowest place from mean sea level in this area. After construction of road from Dramman to Chowari and further to Chamba its importance is decreased as it was now so far from moterable road that it was isolated and public transport was now 12 kms to 20 kms far from this village. But after construction of new road from Dramnala to Chowari via Raipur it again got some of its lost glory but yet its importance is not so much as it was during the time Princely state. The main profession of the people of this village was doing priestly services in all villages and also teaching was their occupation although they also do agriculture and even small businessEdit below overview about Raipur
