OverView of Kakira Kasba

Kakira Kasba is a town situated on a ridge below Bakloh Cantt, Both side of ridge and on top of ridge there is a broad ground on which a market and some residential houses are Built.  Bakloh and Kakira are both can be seen from the Plains of Punjab with naked eyes. They start rising at once after road of Chamba from Dunera crosess a small streams 4 kms from flow and boundry of Distt. Chamba starts it rises then steep for more than 3000 feet height upto Kakira and then more above kakira up to Bakloh Here also small ridge of Hthidhar ends. Kakira is last main town of Bhattiyat when one goes from Dramman to Chamba. There is a very big play ground on top of a peak and one side of the gorund building of Govt. Sr.secondary School Kakira is built. One pious soul Naming Him Giri Swami had built a very modern and first private Hospital named as Himgir Hospital at Kakira which is made by the swami by the donations from all people and provide health facilites at very low cost and even free of charges for very poor. The first ever  Secondary system was introduced from Kakira School when a Secondary School was opened in the Kakira during late decade of 70s. Form Kakira after dsceending 5 kms is a important place naming Tunhu de hatti where highway from Pathankot to Chamba meet with state highway from Dramman to Chamba. One important feature of Kakira is that Bakloh near Kakira had the only Military cant in Bhattiyat since British rule and British stationed Gorkha regment in Kakira and so many retired and other gorkhas have purchased lands and made their houses in Kakira also and there are few villages inhabited by only gorkhas around Kakira. A old post office was also opened in Kakira during 1950 and a Branch of State Bank of India and perhaps first ATM in Bhattiyat is also situated at Bakloh besides Milatry Hospital.
