It is very small village.There were only 30-40 houses.Now the new village is buit by Govt of Karnataka for the safety of flood in Asare yojane.The new village is adjucent to Amingad road. The main occupation of people is agriculture.Earlier they depended on rain because dry lands were there.But now a days every former is having pumsets in their lands by the Malaprabha river. The God Hanuman temple is the major temple in this village is the worshiping God.Another temple Sri Teerthaligeshwar on the bank of Malaprabha river.Hanuman jatra on Yugadi pratipada every year and Sri Teerthaligeshwar jaatra on Shivaratri every year.Along with this some other small temples also there in Medinapur namely Lakkamma(gramadevata),Bharamappa,Huded laxmi ,Durgamma also worshiping by people. The major crops of this village are Jowar,wheat,cotton,sugar cane,sun flower,Toor,maize etc. NH 50 which joins Solapur and Chitradurg the major cities is adjucent to this village. There was no electricity in this village upto 1979.The people were using kerosene lamps in night. There is well in village 30-40 yers back pepople were completely depended on this well for domestic purpose and for drinking Malaprabha river.Now a days bore wells with hand pumps are provided by Govt.Some traditional festivals like Dasara,Deepavali,Yugadi,Kara hunnime,moharam,kartik,jaatras are celebrating in village by all community ctizens together. Till today no busses are coming into village.The people walk some distance to pick the buses to go to the other villages.Edit below overview about Medinapur
