Upper Subansiri, which is an administrative district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India, has its headquarters at Daporijo. The district is comparatively equivalent to the United Kingdom's East Falkland. The important towns of the district are Daporijo, Dumporijo, Taliha, Nacho, Siyum, Maro. The district was formed when Subansiri district was bifurcated into Upper and Lower Subansiri districts in the year 1987. Major languages spoken include Tagin, the dominant language, Hills Miri and Galo, also in the Sino-Tibetan language family and spoken in the western part of the district.
