South West Delhi, which is an administrative district of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in India, shares borders with the district of West Delhi on the north, Central Delhi on the northeast, New Delhi and South Delhi on the east, Gurgaon District of Haryana state on the south, and Jhajjar District of Haryana on the west.

The district is divided into three subdivisions, Delhi Cantonment, Najafgarh, and Vasant Vihar for administrative purposes. Dwarka subcity, Sagar Pur, Sarojini Nagar, Dashrath puri, Safdarjung Enclave, Dhaula Kuan, Naraina, Moti Bagh, R.K. Puram and Vasant Kunj are the major places located in S.W. Delhi.

The District is of high strategic significance as both the airports in Delhi - The Indira Gandhi International Airport and the domestic Palam airport are located here. The District also has the highly strategically significant Delhi Cantonment which has a number of defence installations, artillery, armoury etc. apart from a large number of defense personnel. There are a large number of Government officer in R.K. Puram largest Government colony in Asia. Dwarka, which is the biggest colony in Asia, is also located here. Palam village, which falls in this district, is the head of the Panchayat of 365 villages.

South West Delhi Climate

South West District of Delhi observes an extreme type of continental climate. Hot weather is observed in the summers whereas winters are very cold. The temperature ranges from 45 degrees in summers to 4 degrees in winters. Mist and fog in the mornings are experienced in the winters and sun is seen in the afternoons most often. Winters are very chilly due to the cold waves from the Himalayan region. There is immense heat wave in summers and necessary precautions have to be taken before going out in the hot summer afternoons.

The spring seasons of February to April and August to November is the best time to visit the district. The spring season of February and March make South West District of Delhi colourful. This time of the year spreads greenery on the face of South West District of Delhi.
