The state of Haryana, located in the northern part of India, constitutes of 21 districts. Out of these 21 districts off Haryana, Rewari District is one such. Rewari city is the administrative headquarters of the district. The largest city in the district is this city of Rewari. In the southern portion of the state of Haryana, it is situate. The distance between the New Delhi, the capital city of India and Rewari City measures to be around 80 kilometers. This districts holds the second position in the list of the least inhabited district of Haryana State, the first being Panchkula in the year of 2011. On 1st November, 1989, the Haryana Government gave the status of a full district of Rewari. The district is surrounded in the north by the Jhajjar District, in the west by Mahendragarh District and in the east and north-east by the district of Gurgaon, while the Alwar District of Rajasthan rest on the south-east frontier. Before this, this place was Mahendragarh�s Sub-Division and a Tehsil.
In the crosswise direction of the Delhi-Jaipur Highway-8, the district of Rewari is set at a distance of 82 kilometers in the south direction of Delhi, the capital city of India. 241.95 meters above the sea level is the elevation of the town of Rewari.
Rewari History
In the year 1556, for one month, Hemu ruled Delhi. The region of the present day Rewari is the place, where Hemu had his education and spent his youth. However it was not his birthplace. In the Qutabpur region of city still contains the palace of Hemu. During his existence, this area was merely a village. In 1553, he was made the Chief of the Army and Adil Shahs Prime Minister. On 6th October, 1556, the Mughal Emperor Akbar was defeated by Hemu and acknowledged himself to be Delhis King. However on 5th November, 1556, at the Second Battle of Panipat, Akbar and his armed forces acquired victory against Hemu. He was taken in and then beheaded. The metalwork industry in metals like brass, sheets of copper and utensils manufacturing are the trades for which Rewari is still renowned. The groundwork for this has been put down by Hemu, when he established a cannon foundry in Rewari.
In the Indian Revolution of 1857, an important part was played by a regional leader named Rao Tula Ram; however the revolt was unproductive and a failure. As a consequence of this ineffective revolt, the region of Rewari was put under the District of Gurgaon of Punjab by the British Government in India. Till the restructuring of states in 1972, Rewari continued to be a section of Gurgaon district. After the restructuring, it was relocated to Mahendragarh District. In the year 1989, the Haryana Government gave the status of a full district of Rewari and thus the district of Rewari came into being.
Rewari Climate
The weather of Rewari District remains dry and semi arid. During January, which is the winter month and the summer months of May-June has the average minimum and maximum temperature ranging from 6 degree Celsius to 41 degree Celsius respectively. During the summer duration of May to July, the temperature can rise up to the 46 degree Celsius mark. The months of November to February experience the winter season. During December and January, the temperature may drop down to the 2 degree Celsius mark. On 12th January and on 31st January, 2012 a temperature of o degree Celsius was noted.

With immense zest and zeal, the people of Rewari rejoice all the festival. However, the festival of Teej is something else altogether. It is celebrated with the most eagerness, as it occupies a distinct corner of the peoples heart. Each year, this city witnesses the most vibrant and multihued Teej.
Rewari Tourism
One of the most popular and significant historical location in the district is the red mosque of Lal Masjid, which is located close to the aged courts Kchahari. In the year of 1570, Akbar constructed this Masjid. Apart from this, close to the mosque, two other monuments are located.
