North Delhi, which is bounded by the Yamuna River on the east, and by the districts of North West Delhi to the north and west, West Delhi to the southwest, Central Delhi to the south, and North East Delhi to the east across the Yamuna, is an administrative district of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in India. The district is divided into three subdivisions, Sadar Bazar, Kotwali, and Civil Lines for administrative purposes. There are a total of nine Districts in Delhi, which are further sub-divided into 27 sub-divisions.The head of each district is a Deputy Commissioner, with the head of each Sub-Division being the Sub Divisional Magistrate. Commissioners are finally accountable to the Divisional Commissioner.
