Arwal district, with Arwal town as its administrative headquarters, is one of the thirty-eight districts of the state of Bihar in India. It was carved out of the Jehanabad district in September 2011. According to the census of 2011, it is the third least populous district of Bihar, followed by Sheikhpura and Sheohar.
Located at a distance of 80 km south of Patna, which is the state capital, Arwal town lies on the right side bank of river Son, a tributary to the river Ganges. Presently, it is a part of the Red Corridor. It is at a height of 67metres from the sea level. Rural area is dominant in the district with the farmers cultivating paddy and rabbi crops. BAJITPUR is one of the well known villages of the district.
