Ranipur is situated in Bhanwarkol Block located between Maheshpur, Pakhanpura, Badhanpura and Nakttikol . This village was established by Sheikh Shohan Rahmatullah alih popularly known as Mia Sohan Dada in the 18th century, his shrine is still there in the heart of the village. Prasently all communities live in the village, speacially Muslims and Hindus, dusadhs, chamar etc.This village has produced many educated and respected people that includes Dr. Ali Sher Khan, Ahmed khan, Anwarul Haque Khan and Dipti Lala along With Naseem Master and Dr. Meraj Khan and many more, Main occupation of villagers is farming, but at present the younger lot of the village is migrating to metro cities due to lack of employment oppurtunites. Most of the people have either moved to Kolkata or Delhi or Gujrat and many of them have moved to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. The village has only got one school that also a primary one, so most of the boys and girls are forced to go to the nearby Maheshpur or Badhanpura or pakhanpura for thier studies, the Village pradhan should consider setting up a Higher Secondry school in the village.
