Village Nangla is part of Tohana tehsil of Fatehabad district of Haryana. It is located about 12 km from the Tehsil Headquarters. After partition, when all the muslim residents of the village opted to go to Pakistan, less than 50% population, all of them Hindus, were left in the village. As part of settling the people migrated from Pakistan, the govt allotted land to them in exchange of their lands left behind in Pakistan. Most of them were from Sikh community. The land in those days was not as productive as today. The hardy Sikhs put in their heart and soul into it and set and example for all to see. During the formative years of the village after partition, Late Sardar Narain Singh, who was the 'NUMBARDAR' of the village, played a key role in establishing the displaced community and binding the whole village as one force. Today the village is a model village for all to see.

The village for upto 25 years was under very stable leadership as Late. Sarpanch Baldev Singh Gill, who was known as a very honest and reputable leader, took the village under his wing and played a major role in taking the village development to another level. Even after his death, people still remember and miss the leadership that was given by Sarpanch Baldev Singh Gill, as he gave his all for the betterment of the village and its people.

From the geography of the village, it appears that it has ruins of previous settlements under the raised ground in the center of the village. The reasons to believe are that few years back a hand grinder 'CHAKKI' was found at the depth of about 4 feet deep while digging the near by field. However, it can only be etablished by the qualified people.
The village has a Middle School, an Anganwadi Centre, Adult Education Centre, Sports Stadium, Power House, Veterinary Clinic, a modern 250 line telephone exchange, water works with overhead tank, two Mandirs and a modern building of Gurudwara.

The residents of the village are forward looking and progressive. Irrespective of cast and communities they belong to, all of them live in absolute harmony.

The village has contributed it's meager share towards service to the nation by means of sending it's sons to the defence forces and police. Constable Gurnam Singh of BSF, laid down his life while fighting the terrorists in Kashmir valley in 1992.

But the lime light has been stolen by the real son of the soil, Jasbir Singh, son of Late Sardar Makhan Singh, who, despite all the handicaps of  having studied in the Govt Primary School of the village, has risen to the Rank of Colonel in the INDIAN ARMY. He is still in the active service of the Army.
