Where ever i reside i will always remember BABA RAM MALJI. Sada sahai rehna. Mehat pur was a big trade centre in early nineties.One Mahmoud khan whose ancestors were from Hathoor had established this village which was once a tehsil.muslims dominated area was once ruled by a Sikh named Toiba Singh from kang sardaran village.It had its own judicial system and a court,reminiscences of which are still in Gill House .Thickely populated it had the same numer of population in 1901 as in 2001 ( Census Report).Situated on the right bank of Satluj was once connecting point tradewise between Doaba and Malwa through boat. Now it has been bridged up and NH 71 passes through it. Politically awakened people change non performer representatives when they feel. Complete harmony among peoples of different faiths and political ideologies.
