Ghirai is a Jattland village.This village officialy has all Jats of Boora surname with other communities living peacefully. Late Sh Kalu Ram s/o Sh. Lichhman was a renowned social worker in the adjoining area villages. In ghirai there were/are a lot of sports lovers in this historical village. Juani Devi was the first woman athlete from this village who represented the then Punjab in sports at National level. Sh. Jungbahadur was a renowned Pehalwan of the area. Sweety boora is also an international personality in sports and presently representing India in Boxing and wrestling. Kabaddi team of ghirai was the best team of Hryana in session 2013-14. This team stopped playing in next session due to injury to some players and team scattered. All kabaddi fans are in a hope that this team will come back again like champions and will again seen fighting into the battle field of kabbadi. Rahul Dev Boora is the first IAS selected from this village is another milestone in its history. This village remained MLA constituency for many years and late Chaudhary Devi Lal also fought election from this constituency. Now this village has been merged in Hansi MLA, constituency. This village also having a legacy of Haveli of Independence Era of 1857.
