Sindur village of Jath Taluka, Maharastra is associated with the freedom fighter 'Lakshaman Nayak' popularly known as 'Sindur Lakshaman'. He had lived during 1898-1923 and fought against British Rule. He was known as Robinhood of Mumbai-Karnataka. He fought against British with his five-men army. Since he belonged to Bedar Tribe he was prosecuted under 'Crimal Tribes Act 1871 as rober and jailed in Hidalgi Central Jail Belgaum  but he along with five men army escaped from the jail. He was icon of the people of Mumbai-Karnataka and loved by all this made British government to difficult to arrest him but however the British Govt Shot dead him in deceitful-ways. He lived short life and died for the country:he is the Bhagat Singh of Mumbai_Karnataka. Dr. Arjun.Y.Pangannavar, Gokak, Karnataka
