Golur name was called by Lord Parasurama. Golurs previous name was Parasurampura. It is one of the historical place. It comes under Devarasanahalli Grama Panchayath.

History: After Parasurama Killed his Mother, he came to Nanjangud to pray lord Nanjundeswara and he was having guilty (in Kannada Goladu) in a place so this place was start to call Goladida ooru (guilty place), later Goladida ooru was converted to Golur.
