The main occupation of the villagers, before the large scale acquisition of the land beyound Rewari Railway Line, (Now known as Mayapuri Industrial Area), was agriculture. A few were in Government Service in the Department of Post & Telegraph, Railway Mail Service, Police. After the large scale acquisition a few went to Uttar Pradesh and purchased agricultural lands from the meagre compansation they received from the Government and out of their own sources. 

Naraina Village was famous of it Carrots (this was their main cash crop). It has a historical place know as Ramdwara Mandir on the Hill. It was built on the inspiration and guidance of Shre Ram Dev ji Maharaj. The population consists of all Casts but mainly it is inhabited by Tanwar Rajputs. Naraina Village is now a Urbanised Village. Electricity was supplied in 1962-63 by the than Delhi Electric Supply Undertaking. Sewer Lines were laid by Delhi Municipal Corporation in 1972-73. Drinking Water was supplied by Delhi Water and Sewer Disposal Department in 1975.

Now it has a population of about one lac, comprising of Village Natives and persons from almost every state of India. It has two Higher Secondary Schools for boys and Girls besides Kenderiya Vidyalay No. 3 on Ring Road. There are many other Private School for Kids in the Village. The nearest Railway Station is Delhi Cantonment, Brar Square, Inderpuri and Loha Mandi on Ring Railway, Delhi. It is well connected by Ring Road and a very frequent Bus Services.
