OverView Of Morba

Morba is a village settled 500 years ago. The ancestors are rawoot, dhansay,  bade,  banderkar, gangrekar, harnekar, and jalgaonker families etc.

This village is having social society's  high school and  junior collage. Social society was established in 1950. Prominant principals were m.a.parkar, peerzadeh, kalam etc. And outstanding teachers were - usman mahmoud dhansay - maimoona kasim chilwan, kasim chilwan, late - suleman utarkar etc. This collage has produced lawyers, doctors, engineers etc. In olden days people from around morba as far as 30 miles have taken education here.

Prominant figures of this village were late - dr. Omar dhansay,  lawyer rawoot, dr. Kasim rawoot , . Eng.  A.Aziz Bade  etc.

This village is a symbol of communal harmony. Hindu muslim  live peacefully in this village. Main source of livelihood was agriculture. But now in the changing days many young ones have opted for non agricultural, industrial and office jobs.

Morba village is having one of the biggest lake in this area. But it has become useless due to shrubs grown in this lake. Neither  Raigad  Zilla Parishad  nor Maharashtra Govt.  is  doing anything to clean this lake. Are there some NGO's  who can take care of this lake  ????

There is a hospital named kokan hospital, run by villagers themselves - but because of lack of funds it is almost closed. Need some medical society to come forward and take over this hospital.
