To my knowledge thru elders and other residents sayings this place used to have a cinema producer too in early 1900's. Famous Adhyathmik Guru Sachindananda sway has stayed some time in this area and used to have a small ashram too. There is also a famous Guruswamy shram is here next to the river bank. There is lot of sayings regarding his stay and has gone to samadhi in the caves where he use to do meditation in 1970's approximately. Later his brother daughter worshipped him and built a small temple and the same is in renowation towards a little bigger temple.
There is also a small olden siva temple near to this ashram which is also under upgradation. There is 3 Km distance from Guruswamy Ashram, to Veeraballi Thimmaiah Swamy Ashram surrounded by scenic beauty, established by Veeraballi Sambaiah.
Lots of devotees comes here from Hyderabad, Bangalore and other surrounding areas during the annual gurupournami day when the festival happens here. Devotees visit and pray especially for children, difficulties, and other whishes full-fillment.
This village has a very good eminent intellectual people who are currently settled at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kadapa, Tirupati etc., There are more people staying at Gulf too from this village for thier employment.
The main occupation is agriculture especially Mangoes, Ground Nuts, Sun flower, Pappaya, Banana are the crops usually are under cultivation. Due to the four sides hills and the current connectivity ends with this village still lot of greenery, Nature, peace is here.
Reecently this village has been shifted to Rajampet constituency in last elections. The nearest Railway station is Mantapampalli but there is no road connectivity yet towards this direction. People used to travel bulluck card and walk to this station before the Bus connectivity thru veeraballi.
Culture wise mix of all are there especially Hindus and Muslims but they really dont see them that they are of two differect religions. All two follows all festivals and lige together.
