RISOPHUNG is a hamlet of about 58 houses, under Saikul Sub-division, Senapati district, Manipur, India, with the population of 373 (three hundred seventy three) only. There is only one religion in the village - Christianity (to be precise, American Baptist Mission). Agriculture is the main occupation of the villagers. The villagers speak Kasom language, besides Tangkhul language, the common language of the Tangkhul Naga tribe.

The village has its historical and ethnic roots in Kasom Khunou, under Kasom Khullen Sub-division, Ukhrul district, Manipur. In the month of December, 1964, twelve (12) families, comprising of 73 (seventy three) villagers left Kasom Khunou village in search of a greener pasture, which turned out to be Risophung village, which land was bought from some Kuki chief. The new settlers of Risophung found their land fertile, so the agricultural yields were abundant and relishing - with that blessing in mind, the villagers called their new-found land, RISOPHUNG, meaning "the already-blessed land"

The people of Risophung celebrate Ramsom Phanit on 12 February every year, to commemorate the first day of their first footing on this land. Besides, the Naga Seed-sowing Festival, and other Christian and other Tangkhul Naga festivals are also celebrated every year with fervour and gaiety.

The present hereditary village headman is Mr Aphung Siro, and the pastor is Mr Wungpam Kashung of Sopleng Baptist Church, STNBA. Risophung Baptist Church is under the Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (STNBA), and is celebrating its Golden Jubilee on 15 - 18 December, 2014.
