Manjappur is a small village part of Pongalur panchayat and Palladam Taluk and Tiruppur District, situated just one Kilometer south of Coimbatore Trichy National Highway 50 KMs from Coimbatore. It has a population of around 600 to 750 in 2014.

Though it is small, a CSI elementary school was started more than 75 years ago and helped people in this village to learn without going to faraway places for school. After completing the elementary school in Manjappur, the children used to go to Pongalur for High School. PV Kasturi Rangappa Naidu High School in Pongalur which is govt. aided is a famous one. Agriculture is the primary occupation for most of the people here. 

Tiruppur, the famous knitwear city is just 15 Kilometers away. Many people in this village are employed in the industrial units of Tiruppur. The famous RAMASWAMY TEMPLE is just 3 Kilometers and in the Tamil month PURATASI (from middle of September to Middle of October) five Saturdays are famous for this temple and thousands of devotees used to come from the western Tamilnadu. Farmers in Manjappur are hardworking and converted barren land fit for agriculture.
Parambikulam Aliyar Project canal is going through Pongalur and Manjappur which is the lifeline for ground water recharge as rainfall is very low throughout the year.
