The previous president Mrs.Kamalam sambantham got award from Indian president Mrs.prathiba patel for neat and clean village. The village is very oldest and had a name of kambacheri a forest area owned by kamberiyar family later it was distributed to others for free and formed as a village.Living majority chettiars. kamberiyar family ruling the village for last 3 generations. Mr. Soma.Sambantham is ruling the village currently . The kamberiyar family create one big size pond in center of the village for the Purpose of public usage. Kamberiyar build murugan , vinayagar , pathra kali temples in pond side. Kamberiyar family also offers more than 250 acres of land to village people for agricultural purpose as free and it also gave land to government for the construction of government veterinary hospital and Panchayat office. The village people respect this family and honouring them. Though  the family faces many problems it doesn't stop helping to people of their village. There are seven small villages came into this Panchayat subramaniyapuram.
