The place is called Jawli not javali. It was established in year 1720 by Raja Gaj singh Naruka and made his capital. During Mugal rule it was a important state which consisted of 176 villages. Later during british rule when the family of alwar royals did treaty of defence and alliance with the British Jawli rulers lost their kingdom and Alwar came into existence. The rulers of Jawli, unlike other rajput rulers, strongly condemned the consumption of alcohol and non vegetarian dishes and were highly accomplished scholars of the Hindu scriptures.
