Isukapalli Pedda Pathrudu of the 15th century constructed Peddapuram fort. In the year 1555 Vathsavai Thimmaraju became king of peddapuram, and his dynasty continued upto the year 1847 and the British govt was in force until 1947. But the main change came only when Father Heyer the American missionary came and started Lutheran mission at samulkot in the year 1870 and started the school and the Agustana Lutheran church in samulkot and subsequently the Peddapuram lutheran missiona and school in the year1891. Since then the whole Peddapuram which was a den of prostitution became an education centre and culturally became a hub of political activity and a faithful christian town and the whole down-trodden communities became true christians, and became well educated and by the year 1950 scores of down trodden people became pastors and secretariat employees. Isukapalli pedda pathrudu was once the fowzidar of Queen Vissamma. Vissamma was the heir -apparent of the Veerabhadra reddy who apparently the descendant of KatayaVemareddy the kondaveeti reddy Dynasty.Isukapalli peddapathrudu founded the town peddapuram and the peddapuram fort in 15th century because he was the fowzidar(governer) of Queen Vissamma. .Before that there was no peddapuram ,and only a village called TAMIRE was in existance and there were two small hills and in between those two hills a big mud wall with ten to twenty feet width was constructed and a fort was constructed abetting the hills. The town he planned and constructed south of this fort is named after him and was called peddapuram. This peddapuram was later ruled by the more popular kshathriya kings with family name VATSAVAI..The founder of peddapuram vatsavai kingdom was vatsavai Thimmaraju who was called later as Vatsavai Chathurbhuja Thimmaraju who was once the prme-minister of Govinda Vidhyadhara Gajapathi the last king of Orissa Kalinga gajapathis. When the Gokonda kings kuli kuthubshahis invaded this part of the telugus Vatsavai Chathurbhuja Thimmaraju got the peddapuram kingdom and the rest of Rajahmundry kingdom to the Kuthubshahis. Obviously peddapuram went to the Vatsavais just by the sheer intelligence of Thimmaraju. This Vatsavai Thimmaraju got the title of JAGAPATHI and since then they were called as Jagapathis. This vatsavai Jagapathis ruled Peddapuram from 1555 to 1847 when it was auctioned for arrears of taxes by the then British Government . And the entire peddapuram kingdom was apparently got into the hand of British govt. That means even before the first war of independence this kingdom became part of the Bristish Raj and the peddapuram vatsavai kings who were still holding the Kota kingdom with Tuni as capital were now drifted to a small place of TUNI. Even tuni kingdom was also having vast arrears but the later vatsavai king could clear all the arrears. Even to this day Tuni is under vatsavai kings.
