SATNA
Satna is a beautiful district located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, which is popular for its congregation of large number of devotional places. The ancient temples with rich glorious past and attractive architectural grandeur allure the devotees from far and wide.
The district of Satna lies at close proximities to an antique city called Bharhut, which is famed for its Buddhist culture and whose artifacts and inscriptions are displayed in many parts of the world. The world-class Khajuraho temples is located near-by Satna. Ramvan about 16 kms from Satna houses Tusli museum which consist of antique and rare idols of great picturesque excellence. At Birsinghpur-semariya there is an old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A devout centre dedicated to Lord Maheshwar proudly standing on the banks of Jagatdev Talab boasts of flawless natural beauty. Maihar, Ramvan and Chitrakoot are some of the surrounding places which are popular for its religious centres.
Besides being a prime devotional centre, Satna is one of the best-planned districts which provide its residents with all the necessary basic amenities. Mukhtyarganj, Kotwali Chowk and Rajendra Nagar are the developed places. Pannilal Chowk is one of the busiest areas which bustles away with a series of shopping complex, restaurants and hotels.

Chitakoot Dham : Chitrakoot Dham which is about 60 kms from Satna is popular for its scores of temples, holy places and rich scenic locale. People from many parts of India visit this place to attain spiritual enlightenment.
Sharadha Temple : The hamlet of Maihar which is about 40 kms from Satna proudly houses the Sharadha Devi temple which is located on the Trikut hillock, which is about 600 feet from the ground level. There are 1001 steps that lead to the temple. For the convenience of the visitors a road has been constructed to the temple for the movement of vehicles.

By Rail : Satna is a main railhead located on the Bombay-Hawarah line. It has trains to the major cities.
