Medak
Medak, a historical town located 100 km from Hyderabad on the way to Mumbai at an altitude of 1442 feet above the sea level. It has a natural citadel formed by rocky nature of the terrain. Medak was previously known as Sidapuram and reached its pinnacle during Kakatiya Dynasty. The entire town was located on a hillock and one of the natural fort. Medak is adorned by several temples and architectural splendors.

Medak Cathedral
Medak church is counted one of the largest church in south India. It controls diocese of Medak and it is the only and largest diocese in Asia and second largest diocese in the world. This proud church was built on 1924 with exclusive white granites and depicts Gothic architectural style. This sanctified church is considered as seat of Bishop and located at the heart of the town and entire region is filled with captivating sylvan beauty. This Magnificent church can accommodate more than 5000 people and spiral bell tower measuring 175 feet in height, holy paintings of bible events and art galleries are the exciting features of this church. Stained glass windows displays various events of the life of Jesus Christ right from birth to crucifixion is the prominent attraction.
Medak Fort
An ancient fort built during 12th century on a hillock. Architecture is fine blend of Hindu and Islamic styles. It has three grand entrances and a huge boundary wall. This gigantic fort wall have have bastions which are carved from boulders and rock of the hillock. Fort houses a masque, built on 17th century. One of the wonderful place in Medak and worth visiting for its scenic beauty.
Pocharam Reservoir
Pocharam Dam reservoir is constructed during British period between 1916 to 1922 across the beautiful river Allair, a tributary of Manjira river. It is well kown for the island which is located at the center of the reservoir. This adorable reservoir is serves as home for various shrubs. Bat journey to reach this island is a pleasant experience. There is Nizam's Bungalow near the reservoir, built in 1918. An amazing tourist spot located at a distance of 15 km from Medak.
Pocharam Forest and Wild Life Sanctuary
This is very near to Pocharam reservoir. Located on the shores of Pocharam lake, spreads around 130 sq km. The dense deciduous forest area is the home for five species of antelope and houses many wild animals like forest cat, wild dog, sloth bear, wolf and Nilgai. It is reserved as Eco-center tourist place. The lush green forest attracts thousands of winged visitors like Brahminy bucks, Billed Stork and Bar-headed Goose and turns the forest an excellent place for bird watching.
Other Places
Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Koti Lingeshwara swamy temple, Sri Venugopala Swamy temple are the popular pilgrim spots in Medak. Apart from temples places like Paikondalu, Manjeera Forest and Kondapur are stands in pristine state.

By Air
Hyderabad Airport is located 100 km from Medak.
By Train
Reaching Medak by train is not a feasible mode of transportation as rail connectivity is very less. Nearest railway station is located in Manoharabad and Hyderabad Deccan passur is the only train passes the line.
By Road
Several private and state owned buses are frequently available for transportation. Medak is well connected by road.
