Kittur

Kittur is a famous historical place located in Belgaum district of Karnataka. It holds high historical value in history as it was a famed residence of Queen Chennama of Kittur who lived between 1778 and 1829 AD. One can get a glimpse of ruins of the fort which was once served as a residence of Rani Chennama. Rani Chennama is a legend who fought against British Raj. AS a remembrance of Rani Chennama, there is an international school in Kittur was named as Kittur Rani Chennama International School. Kittur fort, Bailhongal jail wher Rani Chennama was imprisoned and died and Kittur Rani Chennama International School are the famous tourist attractions in Kittur.

Kittur Fort

It is a popular tourist attraction in Kittur.  There is an archeological museum which displays weapons, swords, wooden doors, mail-coat, shields and several inscriptions and many more rare collections of sculptures and paintings. 

Bailhongal

It is a famous pilgrim and historical spot in Belgaum district of Karnataka. Bhartinand Swamiji Math, Hafiz Bari Dargah, Jamia Masjid and Sogal Someshwar Devastana are famous Hindus and Islam religious places. Kittur prison where Rani Chennama was imprisoned and died is also located here.
