Watlab

Watlab boats of the real beauty of Kashmir which remains hidden. It has a shrine at one of the hilltops and it is well known for it. The shrine was built in the memory of Baba Shukurddin. He was a muslim mystic.

Although finding lodging facilities is bit of a problem at Watlab, the place is definitely worth a visit. Minimal accommodations have been provided by the Forest Relaxation Home. These homes at surrounded by apple orchards. It is sheer bliss.

                                          Tourist places in Watlab

Wular Lake: This lake spreads as far as the eyes could go. Standing at the hill tops provides better views of this lake. Small villages can be seen scattered all over the place. One can also see fields on paddy close by.

Shrine of Baba Shukurddin: This is a very famous shrine in Kashmir. It is built on the top of a hill. It was constructed in the fond memory of Baba Shukurddin. Distinct colors in the ground below can be made from the top.

By rail: The nearest station to Watlab is Jammu which is 203 kilometers away.

By bus: One can hire buses to Watlab from Srinagar which is 53 kilometers away.
