Thalessery is an important and first British settlement in India. It is the place where cricket is first introduced in India. The place is abundantly blessed with spice plantations, fabulous cliffs, majestic Rivers and outstanding panoramic views of landscapes are the peak attractions of Thalessery. The River Mahe which flows through this verdant land, named as British channel. The famous Tellicherry fort was another center of attraction which was built in 1708 when East India Company was established. It is one of the oldest Churches in India built during British period. The stainless glasses made of London are used to decorate this Church is the highlight. The poignant charm was achieved by grave stone construction. 

The beautiful temple is peacefully nested on the stretch of coastal line extending from Kannur to Mahe. The expanse made an amazing necklace shape by the connecting Rivers and beaches. Local fishers are greatly believes this temple which is located very close to beach. 

The finest evidence of British architecture located at a distance of 22 km from Kannur district. The fort was established during 17th century, once was served as trading center for British. It is a symbol of colonial imperialism found by East India Company. The massive walls, gigantic stand, decorated doors and secret tunnels are the major tourist attractions.

It is a half built fort termed as folly, now serves as amusement park. It was started by a local judge Overbury in 1870 as a picnic spot. The folly was renovated later and now stands as favorite tourist attraction. Many locals are spending their evenings in this park. 

Mahe, Juma Masjid, Wellesley’s Bungalow, RandattaraCinnamon estate and Catholic rosary church are other major attractions to be visited.

Kozhikode international airport is closest to Thalessery located around 86 kilo meter.

Thalessery has its own railhead.

State owned and private buses are well connecting Thalessery to major cities of Kerala.
