Daying Erying National Park
This blessed animal abode offering a scrumptious treat to the wild life enthusiasts is named after Sir Daying Erying in which the vegetation varies between grasslands and dense woods. Situated in the district of Siang, it covers an area of 190 sq km. Presence of spectrum of water holes attracts the wild folk to quench their thirst and allures the avian fauna from Siberia and other cold places during breeding season.
An early morning visit to the park is ideal to catch a glimpse of the wild animals heading to the water holes to have their fill. Lucky ones can also spot a carnivore attacking its prey to fill its belly too. Some of the inmates are elephant, leopard, deer, sambar, wild boar, monkeys, jackals etc. River Siang forms the lifeline of the sanctuary which is populated by wide variety of fishes, turtles and other reptiles.
Bird watchers and photographers will find many bird species like spot billed pelican, black breasted parrot, Indian swimmer, darter etc to capture real time snaps and have everlasting memories for lifetime.
Apart from wildlife visit, a chain of other adventure activities such as river cruise, kayaking, rafting, fishing and nature trails allures lot of adventure aficionados.
The same national park spreads its boundary to the neighboring Assam where the local folk address it as Kobo Chapori.
HOW TO REACH
By Road : Pasighat can be reached by most of the major cities through NH-52.
By Rail : Jonai in Assam has a rail head.
