Phadang which is now called Phalee is located about
20 kms west of Ukhrul Town. It is a scenic Hill station rooted on the east of
Rencheng –Khaya Range, which is approximately 7000 ft from the sea level. Its
designated Geographical area is 40 sqr miles, 8 miles in length and 5 miles in width.
Phalee Village is flanked by Ngainga Village in the east, Talui and Somdal
Village in the North East, Maichon and Tora Village in the west, Champhung and
Teinem Village in the North West and Lamlang village in the south. Indeed
phalee has many Friendly neighbors.
As per 2010 Census
Phalee has 706 houses and a total population of 3016.The Village with its neighboring
villages falls under Ukhrul Block, before the Lungchong Meiphai Block was
functional until recently.
Mahadev -Talui
-Pfutsero road which is under construction would become the lifeline of the
village after completion. Manually and voluntarily constructed Ukhrul link road
by Teinem and Phalee at present serves the villages well. PWD Link road to Lamlang
gate is an ill maintained old road which can hardly be used. Transportation
thus, is an impending problem of the Village.

Agrarian Village producing mainly; Rice, maize, potato and Cabbage among
others. It has a rich Flora with medicinal values; Marijuana grown in the
village is noted to be notoriously famous for its quality. Farming, spices and
perfume based enterprises has a great prospect in the Village.
The rich cultural Heritage
of phalee is showcased every year during its famed “Luita Phanit” from 15th
to 20th march. Folk tales, folk Songs and other cultural artifacts
and costumes comes to the fore reminiscing the nostalgic past on the occasion.
Great Awakening in
aspects of religion and education dawned in the village during the 1920,s
changing every aspects of the society forever. “The Pettigrew impact” gradually
and permanently made it a 100% Christian Village, ushering in a new outlook to
life, paving the way to global thinking and changed attitude towards mankind in
general, from the animistic cocoon and Head hunting culture, which is very hard;
even to imagine today.
