PLEASE visit panchayath map it is historical place koundinya maharshi kshetra heard in the story of anantha padmanabhaswamy story and vrathaAmruthur is a hobli head qurters of Kunigal Tq, Tumkur Dist in Karnataka. This is a centuries old locality. The temples built at the time of Cholas , Sri Rameshwara Temple, Sri Channakeshawa Temple, Sri Pitteshwara Temple, Sri Lakshmidevi (pattaladama) Temple this is situated at both places Amruthur and its hamlet village Hosapalya. All these belongs to 9th and 10th century. This place has two mosques and two Dargas, Jamia Masjid and Ayesha Masjid, Two Dargas Hazrath Malang Sha wali Rahmathulla qadri Rah and Hazrath Shabuk Sha Rahmathulla qadri Rah. Jamia Masjid is the the oldest mosque belongs to 16th or 17th century, In the premises of Jamia Masjid there is a grave of commandant Dada Abba Shaik Abbas Laknavi (laknu-UP). Date 1711 AD. This mosque was built of stone, recently a new mosque is built in the premises. The prominent personalities of this place are Late Sri A. N . Jayaram, Asst Solicitor General of India and Mr Mohamed Wazir Ahmed. IPS, Retd Additional Director General of Police(ADGP). The Markonahalli Reservior-Dam buit by Sri Krishnarajendra Wadiyar IV, Sir Mirza Ismail was the Diwan of Mysore built in 1939. The famous Political personalities are Sri N. Huchchamasti Gowda and Sri D. Nagarajaiah both of them are Ex Ministers. Dr Ravi B Nagarajaiah was ex Tumkur ZP President who represented Amruthur ZP constituency, contributed a lot by some development works.
