Recently on 18 Nov 2012 the famous Shri Maha Sakathi Saptha Kanniamman temple was constructed by Mantharpawalu, Kurunul Kothra brothers of that village and the temple is the only temple unique for having Saptha Kannigal Individual statue with 3'' hight and having siting statue on her vaganam (Horse). A person who took birth on this Kothra is having right to perform his religious rights on that temple and take participation in temple actives.

Sattuvanthangal A name it self has the meaning of Shakthi Thangal. Long long ago when Lards Parwathi devi while traveling the sun settled at unusual time and Devi was surprised how it was happened. Then she come to know one priest was chanting Shri Durgaya Namaha with out even taking food and water for a days together. She has satisfied in his chanting and appeared before him and asked what do you want. The priest did not ask all comforts instead he asked to stay here for ever. Loka nayagi has appraised him about her duty and softly conveyed her inablity and agreed to shower her divine power to whoever visit her shrine and give all holiness and keep away their worries. From that day Shakthi thangal village has become Sattuvanthangal. Every year in the tamil month of Addi the famous Joothri festival organised by the village people. On that day each and every one of the village people will present with their kit and kins to perform their religious offer.
