Some times hermits were coming to this village and were living in a place in this village called "Jugimath". This place is now also present near river bank of Bhikapali. Although people of this village were poor then also they were offering food to the hermits. No any person had gone with empty stomach from this village. So these hermits (Yogi) were called to this village as Bhukapali means no any guest, hermit or beggar stay here Bhuka in this 'Pali' or Village. So This name as Bhukapali is spreaded. Then some year later this name changed to Bhikapali. Now the present name of This village is carring it. As per the Old people talks this village was first taken By Sahadev Gountia as Jamindari from Deogarh King. As he fails to pay Tax to the King due to the thefted of the collected tax ,another Gountia from Kankmal Village called Nua Gountia by name Dubraj Gountia with his brother Baldev Gountia take 50% of this village under his Jamindari. Now the ancestors of both the gountias were living in this village.

In ancient time some hermits were living in the river bank near by the main village at about 500 meter distance. They were collecting foods by begging foods from nearby villages and Bhikapali also regularly for their feed. But in the early the peoples of this villages were not so prosperous. Anyhow they do living by different way like eating "Mahul Kanko" , by eating "Kado". They got used to drink the soup (Pasia or Peja) prepared from boiling the rice and again they dried the boiled rice for next day eating. They are too much poor. And also they living by eating seasonal food like Kendu, Blackberry, Tamarind and his leaves , Char , Mahul etc. The peoples are so poor.Some times hermits were coming to this village and were living in a place in this village called "Jugimath".
