Education Schools Colleges:one primary school and one Kaliappapillai Govt high school are there from 1940. The high school under the District board once was one among the famous schools in Ramnad Dist. Leaving the Rajah high school Ramnad, and Chettiar high school Paramakudi, this was the only school available with well capable and dedicated teaching facilities to cater the educational needs of thousands of rural students around Kamankottai. Students from Sathirakudi, Manjur, Manjakkollai, Mudalur, Gangaikondan, Pandiyur, Muthuvayal and so on. The name of Head Master instrumental for the growth of the institution during 1960-70 was one Mr. Vaithianathaiyer. He brought up the students community with discipline and made them to concentrate on studies. Many students from this school have occupied high level Govt, Bank, Judiciary positions. Some personalities like Mr. Chandrasekar (Actor Vijay father) and Director Adiyaman are from this school.Festival :
Kamankottai village a majar historical village, it has two big irrigation tanks and ten water harvesting ooranies, one famous high school avaialble, the faous freedom fighters k.kannyerampillai, mr rettayan houses are also avialble in this village.mr. Kannyeram pillai was elected by the peoples as panchayat union chairman in 1959. In every year april second week a famous mariamman pongal festival was celeberate near by village, on cenima director mr athiyaman was borned in this village in 1972
