The population of our village is around 1,500. Most of the people are very illiterate and farmer. They are going to the field every day for cultivation and earn much money from various ways from the field in the end of the year, according the growth of their crop. Educated and other craft persons also earning much money according to their activities. They can living with their children with happily and maintain them like playing, reading and marry making etc. whole the year. In the middle stage of our village is Tank, which all the people of the area used it. Another Tank is Chandi Tank which personal of Talasahi people. They can birth and do their daily life work in the Tank. A nice river is flowing from North to South and goes away to River Mahanadi. Inside the River, the crops are well do and giving us many crops due to the river water. Many ponds and tube wells are inside and outside of our village for the betterment of the people. In this significance, there is no problem for us.
In the political activities, every Party is playing with their supporters. We see that there are very contesting each other also say at the time of election we will must be elected. But whatever it may be in the end, the actual person is successes. Similarly, the Congress, BJP, BJD, CPM, CPM(I) Party are playing in our village. Most of the election, the Congress – I Party is won the election. Other Party like BJP and BJD and CMP also won occasionally in the election. Now-a-days, BJD is won our village in every election. At the end, which Party is own in the election do their Administration and other Parties are Opposition to the Ruling Party.

Location of our village: The name of the our village name is Surkabadi and situation in the district of Nayagarh, Via./P.S. – Raj-Sunakhala, Tahashail- Ranpur, Orissa and INDIA. It has two temples. One is Siva Mandir to call Bholeswar to be established at the East of our village. Other one Ramachandi also to be established with Kalika and Kaleshi Thakuranee at the West of our village. The two Temple are natural from our Grand-father’s age. Many Temples are establishing around the village like Hanuman, Kali, Trinath and Santosima. Most of the people are going to pray to the Temple in the early morning and evening. The deep forest is also situated every parts of our village. The forest things like wood, meat and other essential commodities are available in the forest. People are going to the forest and bring which things require them and living very peacefully. Communication and Electricity are not sufficient for the people. The Electricity supplies of the area are very low voltage. The Communication is not available whole the day. To go away somewhere, we can give facility a particular time table. If you can loss the time, you failure the whole day. A Primary Health Centre and a Homeopathy Centre is established by the Government of Orissa to service the people.
There are many festivals celebrated like Raja, Laxmi Puja, Durga Puja and Deshahar Puja, Kali Puja, Sathee Puja, Ganesh Puja, Sarswati Puja and many other puja etc. Totally my village is very nice for me. I remember every day in my life.
