OverView of Kot Panech
It was told by an old person of the village that this village was situated two km. North side from present place before the attacks of ahmad shah abdali (asa).when asa started invade india (it's said that he attacked more than nine times 1747-69). On his route to delhi (gt road) he plundered nearby villages also in the route.this village was also attacked like others. Then villagers took shelter in ruined vacant ownerless sarai lashkar khan ( fort which came in news after release of bollywood movie rang de basanti). Meantime the east india company became powerful. It's officers selected the sarai for sowing mulberry trees for feeding silkworm. The villagers objected to vacate the shelter. The officials promised to settle outside the fort and guaranteed protection from asa.then the british officials make four settlements according to gotras(sub caste) 1.kot mandiala(bhullar gotra) 2.kot sekhon (sekhon gotra). 3.kot panaich(panaich and baraich gotra) 4.kot mandiala khurd(mangat gotra). All four villagers made some mud walls around their villas like high boundary for protection from asa. this high boundary is called kot in indian languages.so the names of the villages developed.in those days the british fulfilled their promise of protection with the villagers.
