Head-Hunting and Safety Concerns: The practice of head-hunting persisted in the region, and Kangching's population swelled as people sought refuge there. However, this influx of refugees sparked resentment among neighboring villages, leading to attacks on Kangching.Temporary Exodus and Return: The villagers fled to Tamlu, located north of Kangching, for safety. After some years, when head-hunting ceased and mutual understanding prevailed, the villagers returned to Kangching and resumed peaceful life. Today, Kangching Village is situated in Tamlu Tehsil in Longleng District of Nagaland State, and its history reflects the complex dynamics of migration, conflict, and settlement in the region.2.
