Zirhama (newly discovered 9th century bronze age archaeological site) lies in the north of Laderwan. The famous tourist place of Mukhtasar lies in the western side just in the middle of laderwan. In the west of it lies the famous ladernag where a classical rock art depiction exists.                                                                          

The name of  Laderwan  seems to had been associated with the Rig vedic god rudra being praised some 200 times in the sacred literature, Rudra is the Rig vedic god and wan (means forest). So this place is considered to be the abode of god Rudra. About the origin of its name; a long discussion with Mr Mohammad Rafiq sahib (famous retired  Master of the district) led me to conclude an archaeological interpretation with some archaeological evidences that it was initially Rudrawan and with the passage of time the name was changed to laderwan with the rise of islam in the district. The archaeological boundary of this village included whole of the present kawari village. In the historic chronicle of kashmir "Rajtarangni" trans. M A stein, vol.2; we find the name of Stilvan being used for this village. This village served as the hub of pilgrimage activity towards the Sharda temple ; following this village as a transit camp. I am again told by the famous educationist of this village (Rtd. headmaster) Mr. Mohammad Rafiq wani sahib (85) that he has seen in his childhood; large number of pilgrims using this village as a transit camp for nights and the following morning; the pilgrims from here would start their journey early in the morning. we don't find any mention of this village in the Gazzetter of kashmir written by C E Bates but it seems to had been a part of Zirhama. Now this assumes an archaeological importance. There is a mound known locally by the name of Raintang And from govt high school laderwan to kawari ;a tract of sloppy land is yielding abundance of Archaeological material culture including osteological evidences. During the archaeological exploration conducted in this village , large number of Buddhist and Hindu sculpture is reported have been recovered from time to time during the illicit excavations  and natural factors like land sliding, abbration processes and shifting and hoe cultivation. This precious archaeological material is reported to had been given to the local pandits (Hindus) before they migrated to jammu and other places of the country. These are  again the sufficient archaeological evidences to prove that this village had supported huge population during the early historical era.
