Elapakkam village is wonderful place to live for all category of people. In this village people are living for since many centuries. This village about B.C 1700 became people living place. There are all class of people living to-gather  as bother and sisters. One upon a time this village had plenty of agriculture and Horticulture work for earning. Even many neighborhood villages depends for their survival of life. Also there is many shops and local marketing trading happened in every one in a week (SANTHAI).  There all type of products and household goods can purchase. But now it is not in taken place. Even fish business  is so handsome in place. Because in the village there is sufficient level of LAKE available even now. In the 19th century there was a cinema theater (Tourist Talkies), to watching movie so many neighborhood people used to walk Elapakkam every day even in nights. But now it is not taken place. There are about 10-15 neighbor villages depends Elapakkam for all kind of demands and day to day needs.

When spell Elapakkam name itself everyone say that, there is countless teachers are living.
Also it is well known for Good education and No.1 in literacy rate than other villages. Since 18th century there is Govt. High school providing well dignified and quality eduction to all children without any bias. Recently this school got promoted as Higher Secondary School.We many of us does not know that this school created and produced so many Teachers,Doctors, Advocates,Engineers and socialist and economist.

If we see some interesting special is that, Tea,Coffee and Milk is so taste and healthy everyone will say still. Because there is small milk depot running towards the beneficiaries of all villages' cow owners. 
Also one God Murugan temple is very famous among all the nearest villages. This temple established about 75 years ago. Since this temple festive is so famous and entertained one among all.
Also the pot and mud products making are well famous.

Approximately 1 lakh people living in Elapakkam limit itself apart from this Elapakkam circle amount may come minimum 1.5 lakh.

Facilities and others
Transportation is good in the village. Because it connected all the nearest villages and town and even cities. Chennai to Elapakkam there are 3 buses running in a day thrice (up and down) Directly it is connected with main towns like Maduranthagam,Acharapakkam,Tindivanam,Endathur,Vandavasi,Orathi etc., Even private buses are operating adequately. Also private Auto, Share auto, taxi, Car, Tempo travel. In emergency we can have private cars on demand for 24*7. There is no police station at village. But belongs to orathi station limit.
Also wedding Hall available is there.

Medical and Hospitals  

There are many private clinics are taken place to give first aid and adequate emergency. But only one authorised govt. doctor is available. All other medical needs we have to move nearest town like Acharapakkam, Madhuranthagam. In the village there is a small Primary Health station available on weekly basis doctors will visit. In the private (St.Thomas Gen. Hospital) hospital and treatment available 24*7 in Dr.Amedkar Nagar, R.C Street.
