Jauharganj is a village of Chaikalan Panchayat in Chauparan Tahsil in Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. The village is divided into Chai Kalan and Chai Khurd and takes its name from the prominent religius leader Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Jauharul Quadri. The village is famous for shrine of great saint Hazrat Dulha Fatahuddin Ghazi Rahmatullah Alah and Sunni Alavi families. The Urs (death anniversary) of Hazrat Dulha Fatahuddin Ghazi is celebrated according to the Hindi calender on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of Baisakh.
The Alavi barnch claim their lineage to Hazrat Ali Raziallaho Anho through his son Muhammad bin Hanafiyah with his wife Khaula -Al-Hnanifiyah. The Alavi of Jauharganj are sometimes referred to as Maulana Families ( Maulana Khandan ) or Pirzadigan ( Pir Khandan ) . The Alavi of Jauharganj belongs to Gwalior ( a city in Madhya Pradesh, India ) and Makanpur ( a town in Kanpur District in Uttar Pradesh, India ) Alavi Families. This is well-known taht The seniors of Gwalior Alavi family came to eastern India for Preaching and settled at Jauharganj, Chai Kalan ( one of the the main estates in the district during the Muslim period ). The Alavi of Jauharganj can be found in diffrent part of Jharkhand and India where the branch of this family is settled.
The village has one Co-Educatinal Urdu medium Pvt.Aided Madrasa ( Azizul olum ) established in 1935 by Dr.Sajjad Ahmad Jauharul Quadri and Co-Educational UPGM.S Urdu medium school established in 1964 by Hafiz Ghulam Mohammad the famous personalities of Jauharganj Alavi Family. The Village is identified as a peace, culture, Spirituality, poet convention, unity of Hindu-Muslim and its alliance. Furthermore the annually Mushaira is observed at Maharajganj ( the local town of the area ) by karawane-adab " the committee for development of Urdu language " and it founder Maulana Khalid Raza Mosafir Jauharganjwi who belongs to Jauharganj Alavi Family.
Agriculture and education are main income source of the Jauharganj but poverty and ignorance is still big problem in this area. Other attractions of the area are nice rivers, ponds and healthy environments.
