This is a village rich in tradition ,custom,and also rich in enviromental greenery. It is near about 35 to 40 K.m away from the district head quater.So far my knowledge goes , this village has been named like this as because these people like in Dance and Art. so from very bigning the name was Nurtya- Anga, and after some days the original name has changed into Nutang. The people of this area are very inocent,educated, civilzed and socially advanced also.Near the village the River Birupa is flowing since time immemorial.Just near the village ,the Taladanda Canal and a small rive Sukavadra is also flowing from long time.These two gives the water support and keep the near by village atmosphere green and vegitative.The old insitution like Nurtang High School situates in the bank of river sukavadra. In one end the Lord Mahadev stands with Maa Chandi giving blessing to the villagers and in the other end the Lord Mahaveer in Ajana Matha stands at the end of the village to give protection to the villagers from the evil forces. Mostly the villagers depend on the agriculture as their source of income.There is a small market near the school, which give support of daily needs of the village people. In every sunday and in every Thursday ,there is a small Hata , namely Chandi hata opens its market to substantiate the needs of the villagers.This village is a mostly a peace loving village in the area of cuttack district.Many great people has taken birth in this village and choose their work place in this village.Among them the famous poet of odia Nataka Gana kabi Baishnab Pani though not born in this village, but all his life was spent in this village as his work place.Edit below overview about Nurtang
