OverView of Ratapat
It is the 2nd biggest village in Cuttack District, ODISHA in population. Nearly 80% people of this village belongs to khandayat caste. It has vast land area. In past this village had good reputation in agricultureand paika bidroha in britis rule. Year round all types of cultivation like paddy sugarcane groundnut, kharif crops vegetables done here. This is the boarder village of Badamba tahasi and Narasinghpur Tahasil. Even one sahi (one part) of this village comes under Narasinghpur block. Education standard of this village is poor though one high school, two u g m e schools, one Bibekananda shikshya kendra and one u.p.school are here.From geographical side of view this place is close to the following pilgrim places (nearly 6km in air distance) i.e Nilamadhab (Kantilo), Mahali (Kharod), Bhatarika, and Champanath (Champeswar). Ma budhi thakurani temple Angul is 70 km from this place. Budhabudhi ghati Narasinghpur is 26 km away from this place. Dhenkanal is 60 km away from this place. Anshupa lake and Charchika (Banki) is nearly 40 km away from this place. Ma Mangala, Kalika, Baseli, Chandi are the village deities. Nearly all the village festivals are observed in Badaghar centre place. Swami Nimai baba's(NIMAICHARAN PARAMHANSA DEV) main ashram is located here, close to state high way 65 of this village. Mora than 8 bhagabat tungis are here. Most of the people obeys Baba and respect him. Sarala temple, Siva temple, deity temples, nearly 7 ponds are here with Hadua nala having small minor irrigation project. Embankment of River Mahanadi, side scenery of hills, ligh of Nilamadhab temple and Bhatarika Temple and free air of it is very enjoyable here. Sitting on sand /embankment of River Mahanadi at Ratapat Manibhadra hill (satkosia )sun set scenery is very attractive.
