Batagund is the panchayat halqya of PANZOO , ZAMALGAM,AAGNOO.

Establishment of Jamia Masjid Batagund. . .
By the grace of Almighty and active cooperation of people the Jamia Masjid Batagund got constructed under the leadership of Khawaja Ghulam Hussain Bhat S/O Lt. Khawaja Akram Bhat of Batagund Verinag Anantnag. The old Masjid was dismantled and the new Jamia Masjid constructed. All the material was arranged by the said Gh. Hussain on his personal surety. The amount was later on collected recovered from the people in easy installments. It was his leadership that the land was developed after it was acquired from the people who grabbed it. A quarrel between the people led by Gh. Hussain and the land occupants also took place.
It was indeed a pious struggle on the part of the people who supported Gh. Hussain. Therefore Gh. Hussain is the founder (according to Shariah). This is all what people cannot contradict with the exception of some vested interests.
